The rules on wedding invitation and proper stationery are not as strict as they used to be. Follow this simple guideline to easily select your choice of stationery, and the timeline for ordering and mailing.
Save the Date Cards
These cards are important if you are planning your wedding a year or two in advance, or a destination wedding. Sending Save the Date Cards 6 months to a year in advance, will allow your guests enough time to reserve that day on their calendars, and make travel arrangements if necessary.
Wedding Invitations
The wedding invitations should be ordered 4 to 6 months in advance and are usually mail 6 to 10 weeks prior the event. Select a style of invitation according to the type of wedding you are planning. If your style is classy, choose a wedding invitation accordingly to give your guests a first glimpse of what they should expect. Be safe, and always order a few extra invitations and envelopes than needed.
A wonderful invitation kit when planning a tropical destination wedding reception.
Other type of stationery can also be used for your wedding reception such as:
Reception cards
Mailed with the invitation, the reception card is useful when the reception is held at a different than the ceremony.
Response cards
Also included with the invitation mailing, is a response card to make it easy for the invite to confirm attendance with a self-addressed envelope, pre-stamp by you.
Thank you Notes
Sending out a personalized thank you note to your guests for their attendance and gifts to show your gratitude is a most. To make it easier to write the thank you note, write down as you go a list of who sent you what gifts.
Table Cards
If you are assigning tables at the wedding reception, the table cards are given to your guests as they enter the reception venue, and indicate at which table they are sitting.
Place Cards
If you are assigning specific seating at each table, the place cards indicate clearly which chair the guest is to sit on.
Menu Cards
At the reception, the menu card is an elegant way to let your guests know the dishes they will be serve and alternative options if available.
Personalized Stamps
We don’t always think how useful a personalized stamp or embosser can be. So practical, it will help you add that extra special touch to your wedding invitations and stationery.
