CANDY BUFFET HOW MUCH CANDY DO YOU NEED TO FILL UP CANDY JARS
As a bride-to-be, creating a stunning and delicious candy table is likely high on your list of priorities. To help you achieve the perfect balance of sweetness, here is an expert guide to calculating the right amount of candy for your event.
First, take inventory of your candy jars. If you've already purchased them, it's time to determine their capacity. Simply fill each jar with water and measure the amount in cups. This will give you an accurate representation of how much candy each jar can hold.
Keep in mind that different candies have varying sizes and weights. For example, a 1kg bag of salt water taffy may fill 12 cups while a 1kg bag of Jelly Belly beans will only fill 4 cups. To make things easier, we've done the calculations for you and compiled a list of the most popular candies and their corresponding cup measurements in our "Candy Buffet – How Much Candy To Buy" section.
Once you know the capacity of your jars and have decided on the types of candy to fill them with, visit our candy measurement section for the exact weight measurements of each candy to purchase. Keep a record of these figures to ensure you have the perfect amount of candy for your event.
While there are two methods for calculating the amount of candy needed – determining the volume of candy for each container or allocating a certain amount per guest – we've found that using both approaches yields the best results. A general rule of thumb is to allocate between 150g to 200g of candy per guest. For instance, if you have 100 guests, you would need approximately 20 kilograms of candy. It's important to compare this figure with the total jar capacity to ensure you have enough candy to satisfy your guests without excess.
If your total jar capacity far exceeds the amount of candy needed per guest, consider replacing some larger jars with smaller ones or eliminating a few containers. Conversely, if your total jar capacity falls short, add more containers or switch out smaller jars for larger ones.
Keep in mind that while the calculations do not have to be exact, they serve as a helpful starting point in determining the ideal measurements for your candy table. So be analytical and trust your instincts to create a perfectly balanced and sweet display for your special day.
